About

The United South African Neonatal Association (USANA) was established to promote collaboration and strengthen partnerships between neonatal services across South Africa.

The core objectives of USANA include advancing the implementation of evidence-based best practices and enhancing communication among neonatal care providers at a national level.

USANA further advocates for the rights and well-being of neonates by supporting the delivery of safe, effective, and equitable perinatal and neonatal care. This commitment is aligned with the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (1999) and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989).

The Association convenes a biennial conference to provide members with updates on key developments in neonatal care, fostering ongoing professional engagement and knowledge exchange in line with best evidence.
